Henri Malartre Museum

The Henri Malartre Museum is impressive, in part because a large amount of the collection is displayed in a 12th Century Chateau - with the items being progressively lighter and smaller each floor.

Henri Malartre had been collecting since the early 1930s and had hidden 17 veteran cars during the war. Founded in 1959, the museum is located 5km north of the centre of Lyon on the banks of the Saone River. It is the oldest public car museum in France.

There is also a large, modern exhibition building within the grounds, housing a very impressive array of vehicles, some quite unusual machinery included. The displays include some excellent automobilia.
